When he entered active duty, he was a 93D M.O.S. which was the Air Traffic Control System, Sub-system & equipment repairer out of the Army's Signal Corp school/ AIT at Fort. Gordon, GA.
His active duty took him to Ft. Bragg, NC., Camp Humphreys, S. Korea, Ft. Riley, KS and then back to Ft. Bragg.
When he returned home his younger brother had joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a M1 Abrams tanker and he became a 12N Heavy Equipment Operator with the NY Army National Guard unit out of Buffalo, NY's Connecticut Street Armory.
During his 14.5 years with NY Army National Guard, he was on multiple state active missions from floods, ice storms, snow storms and also went to LaGuardia after September 11, 2001. From there he was also on State Active Duty at the nuclear power plants in NY.
Also while in NYARNG he was a member of the Military Forces Honor Guard where they provided a veteran's family the military's final salute. In the 4 years of being a team member he took part in over 500 funerals.
