One night in the summer of 2018, Kevin and Nick were hanging out. They were thinking about a way to have a car club that accepted everyone regardless of the make and model of their car. They had an experience with a car club in town that was less than accepting because of what they were driving. Every weekend they would hang out at various places hoping to have more people join them. Eventually a name was decided and out of it emerged the Clarksville Gearheads. What started as a two man adventure now has over 600 members, a Facebook page and an Instagram account with 10,000 followers. @clarksvillegearheadcarclub
Kevin’s car, Fastcat is a 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat. It is noticeable around town by its black hood and the black louvers on the back window. He has owned the car for little over a year and the one thing that makes it special is the horsepower it puts out. With horsepower of almost 1000, it runs a 6.7 in a 1/8 of a mile at the track. Kevin has modified the car with Full bolt-ons while running E85. It has Demon replica wheels, aluminum louvers, and straight piped. Fastcats future entails dialing it in to become one of the top 20 Hellcats in the country. Is this Kevin’s dream car? Absolutely, but the Trackhawk is a close second. He likes to cruise in his car to the Clarksville Marina, out in the country towards Pembroke, Kentucky, and Highway 48 in Cunningham towards Montgomery Central.
Kevin was born and raised in Clarksville, Tennessee and will be graduating from Austin Peay State University next spring with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. What do you love about the local car scene? He says, “I enjoy the local car scene because I can see all the new cars out in the local scene that I may not normally see”.
The Clarksville Gearheads have several events throughout the year to include but not limited to meets, cruise-ins, swap meets, and toys for tots. The club raises money all year and donates to local organizations such as, Manna Café and Christian County Animal Shelter. You will see Fastcat at all of these events!
