This blog series is brought to you by Miss Peppermint Patty
“Where’s Louise?” as owner Jeff Bean writes online- has become a popular post on Facebook. I look forward to seeing what adventures Louise is going on. You can see this beautiful car all over town. She is sleek, sophisticated and classy. Louise brings a smile to the faces of all that see her!
Louise, as owners Jeff and Marilyn Bean call her, is a 1964 Cadillac De Ville convertible painted in a wild lipstick red color. After searching the country they found Louise about four years ago and it took three years to get a complete makeover on her.
Louise had new paint, new interior, and mechanical work done to get her ready to drive. She is a work in progress and has a special meaning to Marilyn. Marilyn’s grandmother drove a Cadillac and would come visit her when she was a child. She recalls that Batman and Robin was a popular show then and the neighborhood children thought that her grandparent's Cadillac was actually the Batmobile parked in front of her house. Her grandmother’s name was Louise and her favorite color was bright red. She loved to wear hats, coats, and shoes this bright red color.
Marilyn says, “This is the perfect tribute to my awesome grandmother Louise and I know she is looking down from Heaven with a huge smile of approval!”
Is this your dream car? Marilyn says, “We have several classic cars as well as new muscle cars, but Louise is my favorite vehicle!”
I asked Marilyn what she likes about being a member of the Clarksville Gearheads Car Club. She said, “I love the diversity of the assorted cars that attend the Gearhead functions. I love classic cars the most, but am amazed at how many beautiful cars of all ages show up to cruise-ins and meets.”
The Beans don’t really have a favorite place to drive Louise; they just love to drive her. Marilyn says, “She floats over the road like a yacht!” They enjoy the Liberty Park cruise-ins and the Cars N Coffee meets.
Louise does not have an Instagram account but you will no doubt see her all over town in good weather because like most she doesn’t like rainy, cold weather.
If you do see her, you will not forget her!
Thank you Jeff and Marilyn Bean for participating in our Full Throttle Thursday blog! Join me each week to meet a new car owner and their car.
