If you like unique and unusual then you are going to enjoy this week’s blog! This car is a one of a kind and has a special name. This is owner Mikel Ford's fourth time moving to Clarksville, the last time his girlfriend brought him back to the area. I asked Mikel what he likes about the local car scene. He said, “I love seeing all the fascinating cars and trucks that come out to the meets and meeting cool new people that share the same passion as I do for cars. I love the strange and different builds the most because they have more of a story to tell behind them.”
Mikel’s car, Rice Krispy which is what he calls her, is a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. He says that some people call her the turtle car but she definitely prefers Rice Krispy. He has owned the car about four months. The car has a snorkel for an intake, the exhaust manifold is turned upside down with a tip welding to it which makes it extremely loud, and it has a custom-built roof rack. Future plans include adding twin-turbo and having it completely covered in signatures. Mikel has a very good start to that last part! If you see him out with the car, you are welcome to add your signature to it. I have my signature on the bottom of the back bumper.
I asked Mikel if this is his dream car. He said, “My dream car is a 1967 Ford Shelby GT500, also known as Eleanor.” Where are his favorite places to drive Rice Krispy? Mikel said, “I don’t have any favorite spots, I just drive her all over Clarksville.” You can catch Mikel and his car at many of the Gearheads events.
Thank you Mikel for participating in our Full Throttle Thursday blog! Join me each week to meet a new vehicle owner and their vehicle.
