Nathan Streng is not currently a member of the Clarksville Gearheads Car Club but is strongly considering joining. However, he is an active participant in the local car scene and can be seen at many events. I am sad to say that since this interview, Nathan was involved in a wreck and totaled his car. Thankfully he did not have any serious injuries! I asked him if he still wanted me to post his story and he said that he did.
Nathan’s car, which he calls Katie, is a 2001 Buick LeSabre that he has owned about 5 years. It is a retired decommissioned police cruiser. As of now he has only done basic maintenance to keep her running, added RBG color changing headlights, interior glowing lights and some exhaust work. Future plans for the car are to restore her back to her police state. He wants to turn it into a police tribute car for the officer who passed in the car. Nathan said, “I want to pay homage to him and his service.” What a wonderful tribute!
I asked Nathan if this is his dream car. He said, “It’s not my dream car but it does hold a special place in my heart. My dream car is a 1987 Grand National GNX.” Where are his favorite places to drive? He said, “I drive my car down to Ghost Bridge every now and then. I take it down to the mart on New Providence to take mainly aesthetic photos. I also like to take it to the parking garage for sunset photos.”
Nathan came to Clarksville to leave the busy city life in Texas. He discovered his first car meet 4 years ago when my mother told me about a car meet at Kroger’s on Madison Street. Nathan says, “That’s how I forever became involved with the Clarksville car scene. I finally felt accepted with my car and people appreciated it. It’s the great vibe I feel in the local car scene.”
If you would like to follow Nathan and Katie on Instagram, their name is police_lesabre. Thank you Nathan for participating in our Full Throttle Thursday blog!
Join me each week to meet a new vehicle owner and their vehicle.
