Full Throttle Thursday- @recondo.rider

This week’s blog features Mike, also known as Recondo Rider and his car, Kristina. Mike moved to Clarksville in 2012 while serving in the Army. He met his wife and they were married in 2016. He has two children, an 11 year old daughter and a 2 year old son.

Mike’s car, which he calls Kristina, is a 1991 Ford Mustang LX coupe and he has owned the car for little over a year. The list of modifications performed at this point is mostly suspension and brakes. He has changed the front for the traditional spring and strut to an SVE street coil over. Mike has junked the heavy stock lower control arms and put in QA1 tubular lowers with SN95 ball joints and attached to that are SN95 spindles with 13” 2004 Cobra disk brakes. The rear end has maximum Motorsports upper and lower control arms with SVE’s street springs and shocks. He has switched out the rear differential from 28 spline to 31 spline. He locked both axles together with a street strip break away locker. The axles are Moser street axles capped at the ends with 2004 Cobra rear disk brakes measuring in at 11.65”. The interior has been put back to the original black and the seats were swapped out with Cobra leather and black suede. Mike says the car still needs motor, body paint, and some interior work but after waiting 16 years to get his fox body, he is taking his time and will pass the car onto his son.

Is this dream vehicle? Mike says, “This is one of my dream cars. I have been infatuated with the fox body since I was 15 years old and my best friend got one for his 16th birthday.”

I asked Mike what he likes about being a member of the Clarksville Gearheads. He said, “The Clarksville car scene is like none other. We have a combination of both young and seasoned car lovers. We seem to get along and mesh well together.”

Thank you for referring to us older folks as seasoned instead of old!
