What an honor this week’s blog is!! There are not many of these gorgeous vehicles around town so I am excited to bring you this story. This week’s blog features Landon Hogue and his car Fancy.
Landon owns a beautiful, red 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. He has owned the car just over a year. The 1996-1999 Vipers came from the factory with an all forged motor and cam upgrade that sounds nasty straight from the factory. These year Vipers have no problem making 1000hp with some modification.
Modifications include brake upgrades, an intake swap from a newer generation Viper, 3.73 gears, and a DSS carbon driveshaft and axles. He slapped a 76mm turbo rear mount setup that makes 744whp on stock ECU and stock block/heads. The only internal upgrade is larger push rods. Future plans for Fancy include a stand-alone ECU; flex fuel setup and turbo upgrade. He would like to get over 1000whp!
Is this your dream car? Landon says, “Definitely my dream car, it’s something I have wanted since the first Gran Turismo back in the late 90’s. It’s been something that I’ve worked towards for the past few years.” He likes to drive his car through Dover Cross Creeks area. Dover is a beautiful drive! Landon also likes to drive around his place on some of the back roads of Palmyra and down through Dickson on the trace.
Landon was born and raised in the South Side area. He worked in the fields and bagged groceries. Then he worked hard to further his education on mechanical things, eventually making it to where he is now. Landon has been a Master Tech for the past 10 years with an ASE certification and many other odd jobs. He is currently working his dream job of maintaining and serving the Clarksville Police Department’s equipment. I asked him what he likes about being a member of the Clarksville Gearhead Car Club. Landon said, “I love the fact that you never know what you might see. Something wows me every time I come to the meets!”
If you would like to follow Landon on Instagram, you can look him up by his name or shenanigansracing_931. Thank you Landon for participating in our Full Throttle Thursday blog! Join me each week to meet a new vehicle owner and their vehicle.
