Aryon Roberge is not a Gearheads member but is a frequent participant at many of the Gearheads events, especially the Friday night meets. It is a pleasure to interview anyone with a love of cars no matter who they are affiliated with or what they drive. Aryon is a member of Affiliated Car Club which his dad and some friends started in Clarksville in 2006. He has been a Clarksville resident since he was a baby. I asked Aryon what he likes about the local car scene. He said, “We love joining in on their (the Gearheads) meets to see the diversity of cars. I love how many people can come together to make meets, shows, and events happen.
Aryon’s car is a 1985 Conquista El Camino and he has owned the car for four years. The car has hydraulics and is a lowrider. There aren’t many low riders in Clarksville so he thinks its special just for that. He has had a lot of help from his club members putting the hydraulics in. I have seen the car many times at meets and it is amazing to see it go bouncing around! The car has a 350 in it and a turbo 350 transmission. Aryon plans to have it painted a gorgeous pearl white with a flaked out tan or brown top. He wants to do the interior in a fudge color and add gold and chrome accents all around it.
Is this your dream vehicle? Aryon says, “This is my dream car. I have dreamed of having an El Camino since I was 10 years old and saw one on vacation.” He likes to drive his car to the local meets, downtown Clarksville, and out to Governor’s Square Mall.
