V.F.W. Post 4895 Flag Retirement Ceremony

Today we had the honor of being invited to the flag retirement ceremony at our local Tennessee V.F.W. Howard Smiley Johnson Post 4895, in Clarksville, Tennessee. If you didn't already know, the VFW collects of disposed flags throughout the year to save up for this time-honored Flag Day tradition to properly dispose of these flags that were flown with pride until the ends of their life spans. The first flag disposed today was that of a WWII Veteran who helped liberate the concentration camps in Germany. The local Fire department,Boy Scouts, and community assisted the V.F.W. Fire Chief with burning the remainder of the flags.

We would like to Thank V.F.W. Post 4895, The Gold Star Wives, The Montgomery County Veterans Coalition, The Clarksville Fire Department, Boy Scouts of America and Mayor Joe Pitts and First Lady for making this such a meaningful event!

If you would like to learn more about flag etiquette, the V.F.W offers this nifty guide to everything you need to know about how to properly display, fold, and dispose of the flag of this Great Nation!

HAPPY FLAG DAY FROM PINUPS FOR POSITIVITY!
